RYA VHF DSC radio operator's licence qualification
The RYA VHF including GMDSS marine radio operator
qualification authorises the holder to operate a VHF radio fitted with Digital
Selective Calling on board any British vessel which is voluntarily fitted with
GMDSS VHF DSC radio equipment.
Learn how to use a Marine VHF and
Digital Selective Calling equipment (DSC), emergency radio equipment (EPIRB
& SARTs), NAVTEX and Routine, Distress and Urgency voice procedures.

- The correct frequencies (channels) to be used
- Distress, emergency and medical assistance
procedures
- Digital Selective Calling (DSC) using simulators
- Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS)
